Activision has announced that the Call of Duty Endowment initiative is taking up arms to combat veteran unemployment once again, this time in the shape of the new Salute Pack for the recently-launched Call of Duty: Black Ops 4.

The DLC retails for $4.99 and will donate 100% of the proceeds to find meaningful employment for veterans in both the US and UK. The Salute Pack can be purchased now from the PlayStation, Microsoft, and Battle.net stores or via Black Ops 4's in-game shop.

Call of Duty Endowment has helped more than 50,000 unemployed veterans find 'high quality jobs' since it was established nearly a decade ago. The non-profit organisation is aiming to secure placements for 100,000 veterans by 2024.

'Through in-game purchases like the Salute Pack, gamers have contributed millions towards our mission of helping veterans transition from military to civilian life and aiding veterans in finding meaningful employment,' commented Call of Duty Endowment's executive director. 'We are proud and thankful to be partnering with Treyarch on this new pack alongside the highly anticipated release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4.'

'The Call of Duty Endowment has done some truly amazing work, making a real difference in the lives of veterans,' added Dan Bunting, co-studio boss at Treyarch. 'It’s an honor to be a part of such a great cause.'

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 was released for PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One on October 12.

Following release, Activision confirmed that the game had set a new record in terms of digital day one sales for the publishing giant, and pulled in around $500 million during its three-day opening weekend.
