A new title update in the works for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare should help rectify networking issues currently being experienced by some players.

In a post on Sledgehammer’s website, studio head Michael Condrey explained that the developer had “been working hard on improvements to the game” following its release last week, and detailed a list of fixes, polish items and “community requested changes” set to be featured in the upcoming patch, including:

  • Prestige reset issues, including emblems and challenges.
  • Adjustment to the in-game chat names notifications placement.
  • Fix for weapon reloads counting as speed reloads in certain circumstances.
  • Connectivity optimizations.
  • Fix for stats accumulating towards leaderboards after prestiging.
  • Adjustment to challenges to unlock Camos for weapons.
  • Fix for round-based game modes, affecting Win/Loss ratios.
  • Implemented ability to unlock eSports Rule options in Private Match.

Some players claim to have experienced significant problems with Advanced Warfare’s online multiplayer following its launch last Monday, citing lag and connectivity issues.

Condrey also shared a statement from Activision regarding the current status of dedicated server support:

“Advanced Warfare employs game servers hosted at data centers globally on all platforms and listen servers as part of our proprietary matchmaking system,” reads the statement. “Our goal is to ensure the best possible connection and greatest gameplay experience regardless of location and time of day.”

A release date for the patch has yet to be announced, but Sledgehammer says it should be available “soon”.

“More news to come over the days, weeks and months ahead,” added Condrey. “Until then, know that we are listening, excited, and happy to be part of this with you.”
