Over on the official Infinity Ward foum war has begun, with players of Call of Duty 2 seemingly so enraged with the lack of support for the game that they are planning a series of 24 hour strikes, during which game servers will be closed and players will be actively encouraged to cease play. One of the main issues appears to be the lack of cheat prevention, resulting in many ruined games. The full demands are listed below.

We request here and now that either Activision or Infinity Ward make an official announcement regarding their future support for the Call of Duty series of games on or before 16th December 2005.

The statement should include the following:

1. When will you include an Anti-Cheat system for COD2?

2. When will you release your 1st patch for COD2?

3. What will it include?

4. What other plans have you for the support of the Call of Duty Games?

5. What will you do to ensure this situation does not arise again?”

Certainly strong stuff. Failure to meet these demands will result in the following:

We will actively encourage ALL Clans, Leagues, Ladders, Players, Admins and server providers to enforce a series of 24hr mass server shutdowns of all Call of duty games at a time of our choosing,” said the leader of the strike action ButchCassidy.

There you have it Infinity Ward. Do as they say or face the consequences. We’ve had our fair share of problems with the game too, mostly centred on performance, with the frame rate taking a serious hit after short periods of play. Hopefully these issues will also be addressed in any announcement Infinity Ward make. We’ll keep you posted on developments.
