THQ and Revolution Software have announced that the next instalment in the Broken Sword series will arrive on PC in summer 2006.

We’re excited to be able to be working with Revolution Software to bring the latest gripping instalment of the Broken Sword franchise to consumers,” said Peter Dille, Senior Vice President, Worldwide Marketing, THQ. “The acquisition of the fourth instalment of the Broken Sword franchise is indicative of THQ’s underlying philosophy of bringing great games with worldwide appeal to consumers. Revolution Software’s latest instalment of Broken Sword will help us to grow our global business and realise the potential of the international market, particularly in the European and Asia Pacific territories.”

The demand from fans for another game in the Broken Sword series has been overwhelming,” said Charles Cecil, Managing Director, Revolution Software. “Broken Sword had originally been designed as a trilogy with Broken Sword: The Sleeping Dragon intended as the finale. We were delighted to relent and are very pleased to be working with THQ again to enthral fans and carry on innovating in the adventure genre.”

While Broken Sword: The Sleeping Dragon (the third game in the series) appeared on the PlayStation 2 and Xbox, as well as the PC, no console versions have been announced for Broken Sword 4.
