Super Smash Bros. wannabe Brawlout is coming to brick and mortar retailers on the Switch, Merge Games and Angry Mob Games have announced. The scrapper was originally released as a digital download title for Ninty’s hybrid powerhouse (as well as PC) late last year.

Brawlout has already notched up over 80,000 players on Switch, so evidently the developer was keen to extend its appeal by offering a physical version of the game. The boxed copy is pencilled in for an early May launch, while PS4 and Xbox One users will be able to get in on the action at some point this year too.

‘Brawlout had such an amazing reception on Nintendo Switch, with a dedicated community of over 80K players in its first month alone,’ said Bogdan IIiesiu, CEO of Angry Mob Games. ‘It’s impressive, and humbling, to see people throw themselves so wholeheartedly into Brawlout and we hope to cater to even more types of gamers with the physical release!’

In case you missed it first time around, Brawlout takes the form of a competitive fighter where two-four players can duke it out across a concoction of vibrant arenas, all of which are designed for couch co-op and robust online play. It’s a bit like Smash Bros, only with an all-animal cast of combatants.Â
