Gearbox is returning to the land of Pandora with Borderlands 4. Revealed during Gamescom Opening Night Live, the brand-new Borderlands adventure will bring players back to the looter-shooter franchise everyone loves.

Borderlands 4 Revealed

Announced with a release date of 2024, Borderlands 4 will release on Xbox Series, PS5 and PC simultaneously. Set after the events of Borderlands 3 and its DLC expansions, the new looter shooter appears to be a darker, more tense version of the comedy FPS game.

At the time of writing, details are extremely scarce regarding the new Borderlands game. However, a brief synopsis does tease a game very similar to its three predecessors. Hopefully, it’ll be closer to Borderlands 2 in tone than the more annoying Borderlands 3.

“In this next installment of the definitive looter shooter, players will assume the role of a legendary Vault Hunter as they blast their way through hordes of enemies in search of new treasures to loot on an all-new planet,” reads the game’s official description.
