Speaking with Kotaku during its weekly Talk Radio podcast, Bizarre Creations lead designer Gareth Wilson revealed that beta keys granting access to the Blur multiplayer beta have all gone, but soon Xbox 360 gamers will be able to take part with no code required.

“We basically ran out of codes, so next week we are going to go live with the whole thing publicly so anyone can download it,” Wilson said.

Bizarre hopes to have the multiplayer beta available to download from Xbox LIVE Marketplace later today.

Good news for Xbox 360 gamers then, but what of PS3 owners; why is the beta not available for Sony’s console?

“Really because when we were doing the beta it’s hard enough to try and get a beta out that doesn’t crash every five minutes while trying to finish a full game,” Wilson explained. “Trying to do that on multiple platforms at once, so trying to do a PS3, Xbox and PC beta release at the same time, it just isn’t possible.”

When it came down to it, Xbox 360 was chosen because of its stronger online userbase.

“We just chose Xbox really because it’s the platform that, to be straight, has more online users than the PS3,” he concluded.

Blur is scheduled for release on May 28 for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.
