Eliminating endless waves of undead opposition in Black Ops 6 Zombies is one of the best parts of Treyarch’s 2024 release. Whether it’s completing the vast selection of Easter Eggs or seeing how many rounds you can survive before completing a successful exfil, the return of round-based action has been a resounding success.

Ahead of Season 1 Reloaded and the launch of the Citadelle des Morts map, the developers have unveiled a wealth of gameplay changes aiming to make the mode much easier in the higher rounds at the cost of a fan-favourite feature.

Black Ops 6 Zombies is easier than ever

During the fourth episode of Call of Duty’s official podcast, Treyarch shared the intel on adjustments designed to stop Manglers from overwhelming players in the higher rounds of a Black Ops 6 Zombies match. In addition, it also shared intel on brand-new Wonder Weapons, new GobbleGums, and more arriving with the new battleground.

The changes include a reduction of Mangler spawn rates in the mid-to-high rounds along with a cap of active Manglers patrolling the area up to round 100 making it much easier for players to survive even longer. On top of that, the Mangler’s cannon will be much easier for players to shoot off.

The changes to Mangler behaviour in Black Ops 6 Zombies is hugely positive but these changes do come at a cost. The special rounds that appear will be much shorter meaning players will have less time to prepare for the next waves of undead opposition. The first look at the changes has already been met with plenty of positivity. “Making special rounds way shorter and reducing the Mangler spam. Wow, Treyarch is listening to the community,” comments one fan.

Zombies over multiplayer?

While multiplayer is often the focus of many Call of Duty fans, the popularity of Black Ops 6 Zombies isn’t to be ignored. Constant improvements to the mode alongside new content arriving regularly make the mode a hugely enjoyable experience.

Considering awful hit registration is impacting multiplayer and Warzone, Treyarch is doing an exceptional job at gathering feedback and applying it to improve the game for everyone wanting to beat their most recent high score.
