Hacking in Black Ops 6 Ranked Play continues to run rampant smashing any competitive integrity to pieces. Despite the cycle of Treyarch’s competitive mode being in its infancy, Ranked Play is in shambles as cheaters manage to make their way to the very top of the leaderboards.
While hourly sweeps continue to wipe any cheaters from the highest skill divisions, hackers are still managing to find workarounds to gain an unfair advantage in the heat of battle. The latest exploit involves hackers having the ability to select restricted Black Ops 6 weaponry and use it in matches involving legitimate players attempting to cement their place among the top 250.
Black Ops 6 Ranked Play features banned weapons
If using wall hacks isn’t enough, some cheaters are taking things up a notch due to the ability to select shotguns instead of the weaponry eligible for competitive play. Shotguns in Black Ops 6 are some of the strongest weapons in the entire arsenal thanks to their incredible close-quarters damage. With no other viable counters, the Call of Duty League was quick to restrict the category in the first edition of the rules.
Despite the ban, shotguns are causing chaos much to the annoyance of legitimate players who don’t have access to the Marine SP or the ASG-89.
It’s not just shotguns that are making unwanted appearances in Black Ops 6 Ranked Play matches. Some are reporting instances of hackers equipping an LMG alongside their hacks for the ultimate unfair advantage. “Ran into someone spinning with an LMG,” reveals one player.
Ranked Play in Call of Duty is often one of the most popular modes thanks to its connections with the very best Black Ops 6 players on the planet. However, the constant barrage of cheaters finding all kinds of workarounds as resulted in fans staying well away from the mode until more stringent measures are applied.
When will Ranked Play get fixed?
Treyarch and Ricochet anti-cheat is already hard at work applying new techniques to reduce the number of cheaters from ruining the action. With over 19,000 accounts banned since the mode launched, the number is slowly on its way down which is a positive step in the right direction.
The next major update for Black Ops 6 is the Season 1 Reloaded update. Alongside new content, players can expect further methods to drive down cheaters even more. The mid-season update also marks the arrival of Ranked Play in Warzone. Considering the cheating crisis is already bad, there’s a high chance of it getting even worse in the battle royale due to its free-to-play nature.
