Activision has announced James Bond 007: Blood Stone, a new action title coming to Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.

Developed by Bizarre Creations (Blur, PGR, The Club), Blood Stone will feature third-person gunplay, hand-to-hand combat and driving.

Daniel Craig, the current face of the James Bond movies, will star in the game, joined by a supporting cast including Judi Dench and Joss Stone. The singer turned actress will play Bond Girl Nicole Hunter and is also providing the soundtrack, with an original song penned in collaboration with the Eurythmics’ Dave Stewart.

“James Bond 007: Blood Stone captures the cinematic intensity of a Bond film by immersing players in an intriguing conspiracy that will require them to think and act like James Bond,” said David Pokress, Head of Marketing for Licensed Properties, Activision Publishing. “In addition, the game will feature a diverse array of multi-player modes and debut strategic objective-based gameplay that will allow Xbox 360, PS3 and PC players to battle as teams of spies and mercenaries through authentic Bond locales.”

A trailer shown at the game’s unveiling this morning revealed a host of locations including, Athens (Bond was seen in a speed boat), Istanbul, South France, Serbia and Bangkok.

Bond authenticity is being ensured thanks to the words of GoldenEye, The World is Not Enough and Tomorrow Never Dies scribe Bruce Feirstein.

The game’s set for release later this year.
