Hidden away in Capcom’s latest earning’s report is a small indication as to how well Bionic Commando did at retail, although we doubt it’s painting the whole picture. According to the report the Grin developed third-person swinger has shipped 550,000 copies to retailers worldwide since it went on sale in May.
That’s not a bad figure, but considering that we know the game failed to make a dent in the US sales chart published by the NPD Group, and it didn’t feature too prominently in our own UK sales chart, it’s likely a lot of those games are still with retailers. After recent sales success with both Street Fighter IV and Resident Evil 5, this can only be seen as a disappointment for the Japanese publisher.
