Beyond Good & Evil 2 director Michel Ancel has revealed that Ubisoft Montpellier is hoping to release a beta for the sequel late next year.
Ancel confirmed the news in a post on his Instagram page: ‘We aim for a playable beta for the end of next year,’ he said.
That’s about all Ancel would say on the subject, but that’s not a shocker considering Beyond Good & Evil 2 is obviously still a long way off.
The former vaporware contender was showcased at E3 last week, where Ubisoft cobbled together a flashy, CG trailer for the sequel, which confirmed that Beyond Good & Evil protagonist Jade will be returning.
Beyond Good & Evil 2 doesn’t have a release window yet, nor has Ubisoft confirm what platforms it will be released on.
The game was originally announced a decade ago, though the concept for the sequel has since changed a few times, so what we saw back in 2008 has pretty much been scrapped.
Beyond Good & Evil 2 finally resurfaced last year at E3.
