Phenomic has announced that its card-based PC strategy title, BattleForge, is now a Play4Free title, meaning the game can be downloaded and played at no cost.

The BattleForge Play4Free client offers players complete access to all areas and functionality of the game, including all content updates made available since release. The Play4Free game also includes two decks consisting of 32 cards, with players able to add to their decks by purchasing Booster Packs and bidding on cards in the Auction House.

There are a few limitations: Players can only offer a card in the Auction House once they have reached level 4 in PvE and level 10 in PvP. Direct trades and sending in-game mail with attachments are also blocked until players reach this experience level.

You’ll find more info along with links to download the game client over on BattleForge.com.
