EA has announced that its first person shooter, Battlefield 1, will be free to play this weekend on Xbox One. It’ll be free to play as part of the Xbox Live Gold Free Play Days promotion from September 22-24. Battlefield 1 and Battlefield 1 Revolution are both available for purchase with 40% off between September 19-25. If players choose to buy the game at any point during the promotion, all of their progress and achievements will carry over into the full game.

Players can download the game from the Xbox Live Store, or via the Gold member tile on the Xbox One dashboard’s home page. The free weekend follows today’s release of the DLC expansion In the Name of the Tsar, and the promotion is being held as part of Battlefest Revolution, Battlefield’s community celebration which runs from September 19-30.

Battlefield 1 Revolution comes with the base game, and includes four DLCs (They Shall Not Pass, In the Name of the Tsar, Apocalypse and Turning Tides). It’s essentially the Game of the Year edition of the game and features all the DLC released for the game in one neat package. It’s decently priced too.

Battlefield 1 is out now for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
