The Free and exclusive instant demo of Batman: Arkham City for OnLive has broken both US and UK records for the most OnLive demos played in a single day.

The release of the Batman: Arkham City demo coincided with the launch of the game on PC in the US and arrived three days before the UK PC release. In the demo, players got access to the game’s first 30 minutes instantly on PC or Mac via a browser, or by using the OnLive MicroConsole.

Once the demo comes to an end the progress made is saved so that players can pick up where they left off if a full game rental or purchase is made.

“The record-shattering performance of the Batman: Arkham City demo shows that gamers recognise the immense advantages of playing free trials on the OnLive platform,” said Steve Perlman, OnLive founder and CEO. “OnLive makes the ‘try-before-you-buy’ experience effortless, and it’s quickly becoming gamers’ go-to destination for instant-play demos and early exclusives.”
