One of the best scenes in Baldur’s Gate 3 occurs in Act 3 when cheeky vampire Astarion comes face-to-face with his abuser Cazador Szarr, a scene Neil Newbon infamously improvised on

As fans are well aware, Cazador can have multiple appearances throughout the game’s lengthy story in the form of dream sequences for Astarion origin playthroughs. As it turns out, this imaginary version of the vampiric villain can be traded with in-game.

Trading with Cazador

While some players are now just trapping Cazador Szarr in pokeballs or exploring custom maps, one player discovered that the dream version of the sickening monster actually serves a gameplay purpose.

Shared on Reddit, a Baldur’s Gate 3 player discovered that you are able to trade with the dream version of Cazador Szarr, albeit with a markup of 4% (likely because he hates Astarion).

“In the middle of this scene, about the time where Cazador appears, I noticed that I, as Shadowheart, had the trade option at the bottom of the screen,” the player explained. “So I sold a bunch of random stuff out of my pockets to dream Cazador. It really undercut the horror of the moment.”

Baldur’s Gate 3 always has something new

The realisation that players can trade with the dream version of Cazador proves that there’s always something new to learn about Larian’s RPG.

At the time of writing, it’s unknown if trading with Dream Cazador affects the character’s inventory in the Act 3 fights. Players are currently wondering if trading in these dreams can force Cazador to be encumbered during the fight against him or if players can sneak a Sussor Bloom into his inventory to screw him over.
