Despite a few scores in the lower end of the spectrum, Rebellion’s Aliens vs Predator has on the whole been received positively by critics, something that can’t be said of some of the output from the UK studio in recent years. This, Rebellion co-founder and CEO Jason Kingsley told develop, was because of constraints placed on development.

“Obviously in the past we’ve had constraints put on us, meaning we’ve released games that we wanted to spend a bit more time on, which have critically been a bit underwhelming. That’s always a shame,” he said in particular reference to Bethesda’s Rogue Warrior.

“With Rogue Warrior, we did the best we could in the timeframe, and I doubt anyone could do any better given the circumstance.”
