This is a new one. Ubisoft may have had its Assassin’s Creed protagonist, and logo for the upcoming sequel, prematurely revealed via a print on a t-shirt.

The image above was first posted to AC Facebook fan page Le Verità dell’Animus before finding its way onto every forum, and social media platform, imaginable. It looks to be a man named Ba Yek who has a shield in one hand, and crossbow in the other.

Through sources at Ubisoft, Comic Book is reporting that the next AC game will indeed be called Assassin’s Creed: Origins. The new logo can be seen in the photos over here.

Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Director Ashraf Ismail tweeted after this popped up online, saying “Nice shirt.” Ismail is rumoured to be at the helm for the next entry in the series, but nothing is confirmed, as of yet. It’s also not confirmed whether or not Ismail’s tweet was in reference to the t-shirt above. Maybe he looked in the mirror and thought he looked snazzy. Difficult to tell at this point in time.

All we’ve gotten so far is confirmation it exists, and that there’ll be something to see at E3 in a fortnight’s time. The tagline “a new era begins” has also been used in the build-up to the big unveiling. Egypt is the expected setting, with reports saying this will be the biggest Assassin’s Creed game to date. Said reports mention that there’ll be male and female protagonists akin to Syndicate, so perhaps Ba Yek is only part one of the solution.

Either way, it’s not like there’s even three weeks to wait. Ubisoft’s E3 showcase takes place on June 12, where all will be revealed, no doubt.
