Ubisoft has released a video showcasing the game world of Assassin’s Creed Origins, and, to everyone’s complete surprise, it’s the series’ biggest world yet. Origins is set in Egypt, and according to the video, ‘Recreating the entire country as a single open world is one of Assassin’s Creed Origins’ greatest achievements.’

In the video we learn more about the ‘density of the landscape, different ways ancient cities have been recreated from the game, the power struggles that take place between different groups, and the freer form exploration and questing in it. The director Ashraf Ismail also mentions the puzzles, tombs and temples that can be found. The word ‘huge’ is used more than once.

At some point game worlds will get too big. They will be bigger than anyone has time to play. Then developers will start advertising how small they are. The smallest yet. So small it could pass through the eye of a needle.

Assassin’s Creed Origins is out on October 27 for Xbox One, PC and PS4.
