Ubisoft has pumped out a new gameplay-focused TV spot for Assassin's Creed Odyssey, and yes, it involves some poor sod getting Spartan-kicked off the side of a cliff.

The French publisher has been ramping up its marketing efforts for the game, although that's probably not surprising — Odyssey is less than a month away from release, after all. Anyway, if you like your TV spots full of dramatic voice overs punctuated by cinematic action, then this should do nicely.

Assassin's Creed Odyssey is due out on October 5 for PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One. It's set in ancient Greece, although don't expect it to be entirely historically accurate

Interestingly, Ubisoft has confirmed that the stab-happy series will not be returning for more action in 2019, so Odyssey will be the last Assassin's Creed fix for a while. To be fair, this is a good thing; the year off worked wonders for Origins, so take your time with the next game, folks.

Ubisoft is making five special editions of Assassin's Creed Odyssey, so there's plenty of opportunity to splash your cash if you're into that sort of thing (mine's already pre-ordered).
