An Assassin’s Creed Mirage leak has revealed that the gameplay for Ubisoft’s upcoming installment will largely be similar to that of the critically acclaimed Assassin’s Creed Origins. With Mirage’s story largely taking place in the arid environment of Baghdad, it stands to reason that the developers would take inspiration from Origins, which had previously been set in the sand-filled locale of Egypt.

The leaked details, which originally came from a video by French YouTuber j0nathan, was eventually translated and shared through the Assassin’s Creed subreddit by a user named Maginou. Aside from its gameplay design, the content creator also claimed that the Assassin’s Creed Mirage release date is allegedly slated for October 12, although it may still be pushed back to November.

In addition to these key pieces of information, j0nathan also revealed that the main plot will revolve around how the Order went from ‘The Hidden Ones’ to the modern-day assassin’s we now know. The map will also apparently be a lot smaller than those within the past few games, which should please a certain portion of the player base that has constantly complained about the huge scale of recent entries like Odyssey and Valhalla.

It’s important to keep in mind, though, that these are merely rumors for the time being, which means you should still take them with a grain of salt. Ubisoft are yet to actually confirm or deny these details so there’s currently no telling where the developers have decided to go with their latest entry.

However, claims such as these are often very risky, especially for a YouTuber with a sizeable following like j0nathan so there may indeed be some truth to the premature statements he’s already made. But with no way of telling whether it’s true or not, we’ll just have to wait until Ubisoft decides to release more information in the future.
