Helldivers 2 fans are in for a treat next week with the arrival of Arrowhead’s biggest patch in quite some time. A lot of the HD2 community was initially cautious because of mistakes made in the past, but Arrowhead’s latest announcements has players convinced the update is going to be great. While a few weapons are confirmed, Arrowhead has teased another Helldivers 2 weapon buff that has not been part of their early patch notes so far.
In regard to what we have confirmed right now, Arrowhead has detailed a massive buff to the flamethrower, and they have also announced a 625% buff to the railgun. When they confirmed the next update will be launching on September 17th, they also made it clear we will be getting buffs for the Auto Canon and Heavy Machine Gun, and we will see enemy overhauls, too.
While all of the above is exciting, it’s only a tease of what’s to come. There will be even more buffs for weapons not announced by Arrowhead, and the Helldivers 2 developer has now teased buffs for the Arc Thrower.
Helldivers 2 dev teases buffs for Arc Thrower
On the Helldivers official Discord channel, a fan responded to the railgun buff announcement by pleading, “Don’t forget the Arc Thrower, please”. Although no specifics were given, Arrowhead developer, Omniveul, responded, “We have not”.
The Arc Thrower is not part of the weapons officially announced for a buff next week. The weapons confirmed so far are as follows:
- Flamethrower
- Railgun
- Auto Cannon
- Heavy Machine Gun
- Anti-Material Rifle
Although unofficial, we assume the Arc Thrower can now be added to the above list. Provided that is the case, it will be interesting to see what buffs Arrowhead implement.
While no specifics have been provided, Arrowhead Support on Reddit has teased “You’re gonna eat good soon“. This was in a response to a fan hoping we are getting an Arc Thrower revert.
