Codemasters Online has announced its subscription-free PC MMO, Archlord, has now had over 500,000 players enter the virtual world.

The game launched with the normal paid subscription model, but since moving to a free-to-play model its popularity has grown massively.

“This is a key milestone in the growth of ArchLord. ArchLord is a premier free-to-play MMORPG offering significantly more depth and quality than most other free-to-play games and this recent achievement solidifies our commitment to the ongoing development and success of ArchLord,” said Ed Relf, Director of Marketing, Codemasters Online.

In order to cope with the growing popularity of the game, Codemasters Online is soon to be opening a new game world. This also comes in preparation for the next free content update, Episode 3, expected in the coming months.

If you want to take part in ArchLord and attempt to become the game’s all-ruling leader, head over to the game’s official website where you’ll find the free client download.
