Military shooter Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has been added to Xbox One's impressive library of backwards compatibility titles, Microsoft has announced.
Fans of the series should be pretty chuffed with this news, as it now means all of the Modern Warfare games are playable on Xbox One. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is the only title in the series to have received the full remaster treatment, though.
Anyway, you know the drill by now: if you've got a copy of Modern Warfare 2, then just slide it into your Xbox One to start playing. You can also play a previously purchased digital copy by heading to the 'Ready to Download' section of your console.
If you're looking to pick up the game, then you can snap it up for $14.99 on the Xbox Store.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 was released on PlayStation 3, PC, and Xbox 360 in 2009. Interestingly, there have been rumours that the sequel will be remastered for current-gen systems, although multiplayer is curiously not part of the package.
Meanwhile, Call of Duty 2019 is rumoured to be none other than Modern Warfare 4. Could a Modern Warfare 2 remaster be packaged with next year's game?
