The classic run-and-gun platformer, developed by The Behemoth, Alien Hominid HD, is making its way to modern consoles, excluding the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 later this year. The Behemoth also announced that Alien Hominid HD would be released alongside the “all-new re-imagination” of Alien Hominid, Alien Hominid Invasion.
In a blog post, The Behemoth noted that it has been extremely difficult for players to get their hands on Alien Hominid HD outside of Xbox’s backward compatibility and “overpriced resellers”. To remedy this, Alien Hominid will make its way to Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X, PC (via Steam) and Nintendo Switch.
Some fans will likely be disappointed that the game is not coming to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 at launch. Previously, in March 2020, The Behemoth noted on Twitter that “Alien Hominid Invasion won’t be coming to the PS4 at launch, unfortunately. It’s a ton of work to come to even three platforms at launch, and this is the first time we’re attempting it!”
Despite this, it’s still possible that we might see both games make their way to Sony’s console later down the line. The Behemoth also noted that both games will be available to purchase in a bundle at launch. It said, “The newly ported and polished Alien Hominid HD will be available to purchase in a bundle with Invasion, saving you some hard-earned lunch money in the process”.
No release date has been confirmed yet for Alien Hominid HD and Alien Hominid Invasion. Still, given both are coming out in 2023, The Behemoth did say that we could expect “another announcement coming soon”.
