Spike Chunsoft has announced a short delay in Europe for adventure sequel AI: The Somnium Files – nirvanA Initiative.

The developer, along with publisher Numskull Games, offered fans an explanation for the delay on their website. Apparently, the reasoning is “unforeseen manufacturing delays and global shipping slowdowns” for the physical copies of the game. As a result, both of the companies have also delayed the digital release of the games “to maintain parity”.

The game had originally expected to launch on June 24, and will still do so in other regions. The adventure is a sequel to 2019’s AI: The Somnium Files, and puts you in the shoes of two protagonists, Mizuki and Ryuki. They’re part of a special investigation team known as ABIS and are trying to solve a bizarre set of murders known as the Half Body killings.

To do so, they’ll have to conduct their investigation in two phases. First off, the Investigation phase sees players examine crime scenes & listen to witness testimonies. Once they’ve gathered enough evidence in the real world, they can then enter the dream worlds of suspects and witnesses to gather more clues. Hopefully, leading them to find the culprit and solve the case.
