Ace Combat: Assault Horizon will be released in the UK on October 14 for Xbox 360 and PS3, Namco Bandai has announced.

Assault Horizon is being developed by series veteran Project Aces and will feature single and multi-player game modes. The game is promised to be a reboot of sorts.

“Ace Combat is a symbol of the type of triple-A experience we want to give to consumers. This game will help us compete on equal terms with the biggest publishers in the world,” said Namco Bandai’s European VP Olivier Comte.

In addition to confirming the release date, Namco Bandai revealed that consumers who pre-order the title will receive a steelbook case, a DVD, soundtrack, notebook and exclusive DLC. All this will be offered at no extra cost.

In related news the publisher also confirmed an Ace Combat game for Nintendo 3DS, though details weren’t given.

Ace Combat: Assault Horizon was announced back in August 2010 and looked impressive from the off, with Call of Duty like action and set pieces.

An October release will position the title in the difficult spot, however, appearing in stores around the same time as FIFA 12, PES 2012 and The Darkness II. Namco Bandai won’t want a repeat of the lacklustre sales achieved by Enslaved.
