50 Shades of Grey’s producer Michael De Luca is partnering with Sin City: A Dame To Kill For’s producer Stephen L’Heureux to produce a movie adaptation of Dmitry Glukhovsky’s Metro 2033, the best-selling novel which also spawned two video games.
“My novel and I have been waiting for this to happen for the last 10 years,” said Glukhovsky. “I have previously been extremely careful about handing my ‘baby’ over to Hollywood producers for adaption for a feature film, but now I feel that it has landed in the right hands. De Luca and L’Heureux have a great vision for this project, and I feel it’s an honour to work with them.”
Metro 2033 tells the story of a young man named Artyom who survived World War III’s nuclear fallout by hiding in the Moscow subway system. A new civilization is formed in the underground tunnel system.
Metro 2033 and Metro Last Light are both available for PS4, Xbox One, PC, Xbox 360 and PS3.
