Reported leaks of Halo 4 won’t affect the launch of the game and is merely par for the course for a high profile release, 343 Industries has said.
Over the weekend images of the leaked game – art free discs and plain green cases, plus dashboards featuring Halo 4 – were posted on NeoGAF, but 343 has shrugged off any suggestion that the leak will affect the launch.
343’s Halo franchise director Frank O’Connor told Polygon at the New York Comic Con that the studio is aware of torrents hosting the game and of YouTube playthoughs.
“There are people putting the whole thing on YouTube,” said O’Connor. “Microsoft is addressing that a single case at a time, it just takes a little while to handle.”
“This is how surprised I am about this,” said O’Connor, shrugging, before adding that it’s inevitable that high profile games are pirated.
Halo 4 will be released worldwide on November 6.
