- Open your Valorant settings and write down your mouse sensitivity number.
- To convert your settings over to XDefiant, add 9.5 for every 0.1 in Valorant. Alternatively, there are online converters that can calculate this for you.
If you’re trying out XDefiant after playing Valorant, you may want to transfer your sensitivity to keep up your preferred aiming speed. Most people playing FPS games know your aim is only as good as your mouse sensitivity. That’s why changing your settings from one game to another can mean the difference between clicking heads and missing shots.
How to convert your sensitivity settings
To convert your sensitivity settings you first need to open Valorant and write down your mouse sensitivity number. It takes around 9.5 points in XDefiant for every 0.1 points in Valorant. Therefore, if my Valorant sensitivity is set to 0.3, converting that setting over to XDefiant would be around 28 or 29.
Sadly, the two games don’t share the same mouse sensitivity number values and converting your settings isn’t as simple as copying the same number. You can calculate the conversion by doing the math yourself. Note that this doesn’t require you to change your mouse’s DPI. Only the values between XDefiant and Valorant are changed.
It’s a good idea to set it up and go to the Practice Zone to test your setting changes with a weapon such as the M4A1. From there, you can make minor changes to fine-tune the settings without dropping into a game and struggling.
If you’re feeling overwhelmed with doing the maths yourself, there are online converters that can help you out. For example, you can use Mouse Sensitivity as a very robust and detailed solution, or a simpler calculator like Gamercoach. Both of them support the two games, so you can easily convert the values. They will also require that you input your Valorant settings first before doing the calculation, you can then transfer to Ubisoft’s shooter.
How to change mouse sensitivity
You can change your mouse sensitivity and other options by adjusting the sliders in XDefiant’s Settings menu. Here’s what you need to do:
- Launch XDefiant and open Settings found in the top-right corner of the screen.
- Select the Mouse & Keyboard tab on the left.
- The first setting is Mouse Sensitivity. Calculate the value as we explained above and input the resulting number.
- Set up Mouse ADS Sensitivity Multiplier (Low Zoom) and Mouse ADS Sensitivity Multiplier (High Zoom). We believe it is best to keep these at 1.00x, but you may want to experiment to find your preference.
- Beneath them is Mouse Acceleration. It is best to keep this option Off.
- The rest of the settings should be set to Off as well, especially Lock Mouse to Game Window.
Save your settings and try them out in the game. If it feels right, you’re all set. And if it doesn’t, you can always go back and tinker until you find the perfect feel.
