The MP7 is one of the best SMGs in Ubisoft’s new FPS game, XDefiant. Its damage and mobility make it a strong contender for the close-quarters combat throne, and it can be unlocked by getting 20 point-blank kills with an SMG (within 5 meters). After spending some time with the MP7 in different modes and maps, we have put together the best loadout for it.

  • This build focuses on mobility, aim speed, and extra range.

The best MP7 loadout build

Here are our top attachments to boost the MP7’s performance in-game. We particularly enjoyed using it in tight spaces like those in any Arena map. While snipers can still catch you off guard, our range enhancements will let you surprise assault rifle users.

The MP7 is a step up from the basic MP5A2 you get at the start of the game. While SMGs are great at offering mobility and close-range damage, we’re going to make the MP7 even more versatile by adding a Barrel Extender muzzle. This boosts its short and medium range at the cost of recovery and sprint speed. Don’t worry though, as we negate this effect with the Superlight front rail, which brings a buff to mobility and ADS (aim-down-sight) speed. It lowers your recoil recovery further though. Once again, we pick an attachment to counteract this.

The Padded stock boosts recoil recovery, ADS stability and flinch control with no downsides. We’ll trade this ADS stability buff for a faster sprint-shoot time and ADS speed by picking the Quick Draw rear grip attachment. To round things up, add a Quick Mag or Fast Mag for faster reloads once you’re done spraying bullets. This should make you more of a threat even if you aren’t inches away from an enemy. If you prefer using a scope though, consider the Reflex Sight instead of a different magazine.

The faster sprint-shoot time, ADS speed, and movement will let you dart from one tight space to another in search of your prey. If you want more damage per shot, switch to the 686 Magnum secondary when necessary. It’ll come in handy in a pinch against enemies with the TAC-50 sniper rifle or a marksman rifle. An SMG is one of the best options you can use while contesting objectives in modes like Domination, Occupy, and Escort. Thanks to its high mobility and fire rate, you’ll be able to wipe out enemies fast if you’re close to them. If you want more firepower that can put down opponents at medium range, consider an assault rifle like the M4A1. Your class setup can make a meaningful difference in gunfights so augment your MP7’s high rate of fire with the right attachments.

Best faction for MP7

When it comes to your faction choices, there are many options. In our opinion, Cleaners are the best fit for MP7, due to their passive burn applying to every bullet you fire. Moreover, both of their abilities are close-ranged, where you’ll often find yourself with an SMG anyway. Alternatively, you can opt for Echelon if you prefer setting up ambushes and playing more stealthily. With that said, any faction can be put to good use with an MP7 in their hands, the weapon is just that versatile.
