Sul sul! Released on October 2nd, 2025, The Sims 4 Adventure Awaits expansion pack gives our Sims a new way to bond and unwind thanks to unforgettable Getaways of all kinds. Summer camps, CrossFit-like boot camps, and even reality TV-inspired competitions are all on offer in this breezy new DLC. 

Less than three months after the release of the Enchanted by Nature expansion pack, The Sims 4 team at Electronic Arts (EA) has tailored this expansion around scenic holiday getaways. Sims of all ages can have a blast thanks to the flexibility of Custom Venues, a new special Lot type.

What’s new in Sims 4 Adventure Awaits?

In Adventure Awaits, you can discover three new neighborhoods in Gibbi Point: Wanderwood Wilds, a luscious haven of greenery; Crystal Valley, a rugged environment made for meant-to-be soulmates; and Jellyfish Junction, where locals flourish alongside adorable sea life. 

Sims 4 Adventure Awaits also adds an impressive array of new items and accessories: 

• 157 items have been added to the Create-A-Sim mode. You can choose new activewear, outdoor fits, casual hairstyles, and even a bird head. 
• In Build mode, Simmers can enjoy 199 new items. The Adventure Awaits boasts a fully customizable Modular Playground. Imaginary Friends are also back. Pick from four styles and personalities and see how they impact your household.

A handful of activities are also added for the whole family, like Papercraft, Archery, Diving, and Entomology. There are also some cute kids’ games in the DLC, too, including Rock, Paper, Scissors and Hide-and-Seek.

Custom Venues explained

Freshly added to the game in The Sims 4 Adventure Awaits, Custom Venues are a new Lot type that opens a world of opportunities for players to enhance their gameplay as either a host or a guest. Custom Venues allow you to tailor the finer details of your Sims’ Getaways, offering a truly player-driven experience for Simmers old and new. 

Unlike standard Venues (such as Parks), Custom Venues let the player set rules and patterns to have more control over Sims’ experiences on a Lot. You can also assign characters specific roles so that they perform specially selected sets of tasks. These tasks can also take place at specific times of the day. 

You can assign moods, schedules, and activities to give a unique touch to your Custom Venue. Fans of the more micromanagement-centric aspects of The Sims have plenty to enjoy when it comes to this new feature. 

How to make the most out of Custom Venues and Getaways 

If you’re not a builder at heart, there’s still plenty to enjoy in the Sims 4 Adventure Awaits.

For laid-back vibes

Outdoor Kids Camp is a perfect example of a laid-back, wholesome Getaway, which we saw featured in the official EA trailer for the Adventure Awaits pack. There are plenty of other options available for coziness fans, however. Why not organize a day to help your family develop their Papercraft or Music skills? Australian Simmer James Turner built a Retirement Home to spend more time playing with his older Sims. 

For competitive souls

The Competitive trait is new, and it gives Sims this almost compulsive need to win in all situations. Getaways like Fitness Retreats and Skill Contests will be the favorite breaks of your competitive Sims. Popular Simmer Lilsimsie created a Cooking Competition to spice things up for her Sims; her video is a wonderful source of inspiration.  

Getting the most out of your Sims 4 expansions

Each piece of DLC for The Sims 4 complements the others, offering you compounding levels of choice and freedom. In Adventure Awaits, you can create activities and Getaways that are inspired by other packs. 

For example, The Sims 4 Spa Day DLC combines with Adventure Awaits by allowing you to create a relaxing Spa Getaway. Similarly, The Sims 4 Horse Ranch combines with Adventure Awaits to let you create an Equestrian Camp. Why not try to be extra-creative with The Sims 4 Life and Death or Lovestruck packs? There’s plenty on offer for the imaginative Simmer. True to the spirit of the beloved series, the possibilities seem nearly endless.
