Have you ever wanted to play as a fairy in The Sims 4? Yeah, you have! Thankfully, Maxis’ upcoming gorgeous Enhanced by Nature expansion for the game brings fairies back to the series as a playable Sim type.
Coming later this year, Enhanced by Nature marks the long-awaited return of fairies since The Sims 3 Supernatural, but this time they’re massively expanded.
The Sims 4 Enchanted by Nature
Confirmed by EA during Summer Game Fest season, Enchanted by Nature aims to be a huge expansion for The Sims 4.
You’ll be able to create a fairy to your liking with extensive wings customisation, new skin tones, pointy ears, new teeth, head accessories, glowing tattoos and more. Additionally, all fairies have access to a “special woohoo”.
The new expansion brings players to Innisgreen, a nature-filled area with three specific neighbourhoods. There’s a peaceful coastal village with the Coast of Adhmor, the beautiful, plant-filled Sprucederry Grove and the thick, magical forest of Everdew.
As a fairy Sim, you’ll have brand-new needs that never bothered you as a human. Instead of chomping down on poorly-prepared food, you’ll need to absorb emotions from other Sims or drink Emotion Potions to stay alive. If you don’t, you’ll die of Emotional Starvation, like Tinkerbelle in Peter Pan.
The Sims 4 Enhanced by Nature is all about balance, and becoming unbalanced with nature will lead to a new form of chaos. If you become super unbalanced, you’ll become a Green Meanie which will make you prone to emotional outbursts. However, you can find an Apothecary Table to craft cures for your ailments.
There are multiple options for what fairy you play as in the new expansion. You can play as a Harmonious Fairy, a kind fairy that wants to help everyone, or a Discordant Fairy, that spreads chaos and mischief across the world of The Sims 4.
Whichever option you choose, being a fairy also means developing special abilities “that let you nurture plants, manipulate objects, change the moods of others, and more”. It’s very exciting!
The Sims 4 Enchanted by Nature expansion releases on 10th July for £34.99/$39.99 USD. If you purchase the expansion prior to August 21, 2025, you’ll get access to the following bonus items: Lofty Leaf Pond, the glowing Mycena Lantern, and the Disguised Dwelling Fairy Home.
