Is Super Mega Baseball 4 crossplay? With the 2023 MLB season well underway, fans have been patiently waiting for one of the most popular arcade-style baseball series to launch its latest edition, Super Mega Baseball 4. Ever since the series made its debut in December 2014, it’s returned with a handful of editions since. Super Mega Baseball 2 launched in May of 2018, while Super Mega Baseball 3 followed suit two years later in May, 2020.
Not a whole lot has been revealed about the game, leaving many with more questions than answers. And one of those very questions fans have been wondering about, is whether Super Mega Baseball 4 will have crossplay or not this year? Seeing that the Super Mega Baseball 3 release date was in 2020, it’s been a long time since EA Sport decided to release its fourth, and fans are curious if it will finally come with crossplay.
Will Super Mega Baseball 4 have crossplay?
For the very first time in the series’ history, Super Mega Baseball 4 will feature crossplay. However, despite this big step in the right direction, the crossplay compatibility will only consist of playing with those across different generations of the same console family. For example, PS4 players will be able to take on PS5 players, but they won’t be able to play with those on Xbox One.
Though it’s a bit of a diminished result, and probably not the one many were hoping for, it’s still something, and something for EA Sports to build off of. Crossplay can be tricky to implement, even in this day and age, because of the nuances between next-generation and current-generation consoles as well as the differences between how Xbox systems run versus PlayStation.

Which online modes will have crossplay in Super Mega Baseball 4?
Crossplay will be available in all online multiplayer modes, including Online Leagues, Pennant Race, Exhibition, Franchise, Season, and Elimination.
Can those on PS4 play against those on Xbox One in Super Mega Baseball 4?
The answer is unfortunately no. Those on PS4 will only be able to play with those on PS4 or on PS5. Same goes for those on Xbox One and Xbox Series X.
