Eidos 7 Bar 99 chest
- You can only get the code for this chest when you accept the Legion’s Secret Stash mission.
- This becomes available after you finish Altess Levoire.
- Grab the quest from the Mission Board and head to Eidos 7.
In a move that will no doubt infuriate many, there is a pesky locked chest right at the start of the game in Stellar Blade. When you make your way through the opening of Eidos 7, you might wonder how to open the locked chest in Bar 99. If that’s you, then worry no more for we have the answer you seek. Since you find this chest at the start of the game, you might drive yourself mad trying to find the code for it. Turns out, you don’t get the code until much later on when you reach Xion, a main hub of sorts.
How to open the locked chest in Bar 99
Unlocking this chest is tied to a mission board request called the Legion’s Secret Stash. Once you find the chest in Eidos 7, you shouldn’t bother looking around for the code. It is not in this area and you can’t get into the chest until you pass a certain point in the game. Once you’ve finished Eidos 7, travelled to Xion, and beaten the Maelstrom boss inside Altess Levoire, you can grab the quest at the request board.

The chest is here, at a dead end near a corpse and a crashed tram.
Once you pick up the request board mission called Legion’s Secret Stash, you will unlock the code to open the chest. If the quest isn’t there for you, you might have to complete a few more before it becomes available. Generally speaking, each time you clear a batch of requests, new ones will pop up depending on your progress in the main story.
Now, all you need to do is travel back to Eidos 7 and find it again. Talk to Adam in Xion and you can select the option to travel to a different region. Choose Eidos 7 and the first fast-travel point. From here, follow the level through the gate and jump down from the broken bridge beam. Keep going forward and you’ll find the entrance to Bar 99 on the left side of the street. Go in here and then turn left again to find the chest next to a crashed monorail. Use the code – 1228 – to open the chest. Sadly, just knowing the code isn’t enough, and you always need to grab the quest to be able to input the code.
