✓ At a glance
  • Star Wars Outlaws is not launching on Steam
  • From launch, it will only be available on PC via Ubisoft Connect
  • It may come to Steam at a later date like other Ubisoft titles, but this is not confirmed

Steam is the holy grail of PC gaming. For years, if you wanted to play a game on PC, you would simply boot up Valve’s flagship marketplace and buy the game on there. But with the launch of other stores and studios developing their own launchers, not every game is on Steam from launch these days.

So if you’re excited for Star Wars Outlaws and are wondering if the game is launching on Steam, you’ve come to the right place. We’ve got all the details on Star Wars Outlaws’ PC launch including if and when it comes to Steam, and if not, where you can get it from.

Is Star Wars Outlaws coming to Steam?

Unfortunately, Star Wars Outlaws is not going to be available on the Steam Store from launch. The game is being developed by Ubisoft, and like many recent Ubisoft releases like Assassin’s Creed Mirage, the PC version of the game is only going to be available on their own launcher, Ubisoft Connect, meaning you’ll need both a Ubisoft account and to have downloaded Ubisoft Connect to play it.

Many Ubisoft titles released on other storefronts have made their way to Steam over time

This is frustrating, as most players prefer to keep their game libraries together in one place, and Steam is the best option for that. That being said, it’s not out of the question that the game will come to Steam eventually. Many titles that are originally released exclusively on other platforms and storefronts make their way to Steam over time, including Ubisoft titles.

✓ It could take a while

While Ubisoft titles have become available on Steam, these have typically taken quite a while. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla launched in 2020, but only came to Steam in 2022, for example, while Assassin’s Creed Mirage which came out late last year still hasn’t hit Steam yet.

Basically, what we’re saying is that while you could wait for the game to come to Steam, you’re probably better off biting the bullet and simply using Ubisoft Connect, or alternatively buying and playing it on console – not the ideal solution, we know.
