This special gift is available to anyone with an internet connection. Why is this gift being distributed? Because of a glitch that happened with TM creation in the Indigo Disk DLC.

If you have been affected by the Inkay glitch or the Shieldon Claw glitch and are unable to do some necessary TM crafting, you will want to get your hands on this gift. Here is how to get TM223 gift in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
How to get the TM223 Gift in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet
If you want to get the TM 223 gift in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, follow the steps below to redeem this Mystery Gift:
- Open the menu
- Select the Poké Portal option
- Navigate to the Mystery Gift menu
- Select “Get via Internet”
- Choose the TM223’s Gift
- Receive 10 copies of TM223
After completing the steps above, you will be gifted 10 copies of the TM straight to your inventory. This Mystery Gift was created for players affected by the Inkay leveling bug and the Shieldon Bug. This bug in the Indigo Disk DLC made it so players would get softlocked when leveling up Inkay with EXP Candies or Rare Candy below level 30. This softlock prevented controller input so all button inputs from joycons would not work.
The other bug prevented players from crafting the TM because a necessary ingredient was Shieldon Claw. This item was only available in Pokemon Violet, making it so those playing Pokemon Scarlet couldn’t craft the item.
Since the release of this gift, there has been a patch to fix the issue. If you are still experiencing the issue, be sure to contact Nintendo.
If you want to craft TM223, you need to obtain Magnemite Screws, Elekid Fur, and Shieldon Claw. Shieldon Claw was only available is Pokemon Violet, making it impossible to create this TM.
