How to catch Mudkip in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet The Indigo Disk DLC
To catch Mudkip, you must contribute 3,000 Blueberry Points (BP) to the Terarium Club and upgrade the Coastal Biome. This can be done at the League Club Room computer in Blueberry Academy. Once that is done, you will start seeing starter Pokemon in the Coastal Biome.
Mudkip can only be found in the Torchlit Cavern in the Coastal Biome of the Terarium. You can easily access this cave system by traveling north from the Savanna Rest Are 2 Fast Travel Point. Mudkip isn’t the most common sight in the cave, but it shouldn’t take more than five minutes to spot one.
Like the other starters, this Pokemon will be encountered between levels 50 and 70. Be sure to bring a Pokemon with the move False Swipe to make catching Mudkip a bit easier.
How to evolve Mudkip in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet The Indigo Disk DLC
To evolve Mudkip, you simply need to level it up. Mudkip will evolve into Marshtomp at level 16 and Mashtomp will evolve into Swampert at level 36. Once you catch a Mudkip, you simply need to level it up once to make it evolve and then again to make it evolve once more. This can be done with Rare Candy, EXP Candy, or by battling trainers and wild Pokemon.
Strengths and Weaknesses
Mudkip is a water-type Pokemon that evovles into a water and ground-type Pokemon. Swampert is only weak to grass-type moves. This Pokemon is also resistant to poison, rock, and steel-type moves. Swampert is immune to electric attacks.
When Mudkip is evolved into Swampert, it has the following abilities:
- Torrent – When HP is below 33% its maximum, the power of water-type moves is increased by 50%
- Damp (Hidden Ability) – Explosion, Self Destruct, and Misty Explosion will not work while this Pokemon is on the field
