The Water type is one of the first three types that appear in the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet world.

With more than 100 different types, it would be remiss not to mention Arrokuda – a Water-type Pokémon, also known as “Rush Pokémon”, possessing a rather funny face to look at but danger after evolution.

This article provides information on how to evolve Arrokuda into Barraskewda in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. Let’s kick off!

Where to find Arrokuda

Arrokuda spawn mostly in the sea, so make sure to unlock the ability to stay on the water by defeating the titan in Cortondo city.  In specific, some areas where Arrokuda appears:

  • Tagtree Thicket
  • Asado Desert
  • Casseroya Lake
  • North Province (Area One)
  • North Province (Area Three)
  • East Province (Area One)
  • East Province (Area Two)
  • East Province (Area Three)
  • South Province (Area One)
  • South Province (Area Two)
  • South Province (Area Four)
  • South Province (Area Five)
  • South Province (Area Six)
  • West Province (Area One)
  • West Province (Area Two)
  • West Province (Area Three)
  • Glaseado Mountain
  • North Paldean Sea
  • East Paldean Sea
  • South Paldean Sea
  • West Paldean Sea

Arrokuda has gray skin, an elongated body, and quite a humorous face. It has no flexibility when it comes to directional switching. It can only accelerate when swimming in a straight line. Therefore, they are often targeted by Wattrels, especially Arrokudas that overeat and become sluggish.

Arrokuda uses a combination of its two basic skills, Aqua Jet and Peck, to rush to its prey at high speed, and use its hard beak to attack its target. It can be seen that this method of hunting is not very effective when its eyesight is too poor, often missing its prey.

How to Evolve Arrokuda into Barraskewda

Level 26 is an important milestone for Arrokuda because it will evolve into Barraskewda.

Training will take some time, so to quickly get a Barraskewda, you can find them spawn naturally in the following areas:

  • Tagtree Thicket
  • Asado Desert
  • Casseroya Lake
  • North Province (Area One)
  • North Province (Area Three)
  • East Province (Area One)
  • East Province (Area Two)
  • East Province (Area Three)
  • South Province (Area One)
  • South Province (Area Two)
  • South Province (Area Four)
  • South Province (Area Five)
  • South Province (Area Six)
  • West Province (Area One)
  • West Province (Area Two)
  • West Province (Area Three)
  • Glaseado Mountain
  • North Paldean Sea
  • East Paldean Sea
  • South Paldean Sea
  • West Paldean Sea

Barraskewda after being evolved retains a gray skin, its scales have turned red and has become much more aggressive. Barraskewda was able to spin its tail fins to rise out of the water and use Bite or Throat Chop skills to bite Wingull brutally, also preventing an opponent from using sound skills for two turns.

In addition, Aqua Jet and Peck skills have also become more powerful thanks to the power and speed upgrades and the mouth has evolved to become not only solid but also extremely sharp. With a speed of 100 knots, it is powerful enough to attack Finizen violently to dispute each other’s prey.

Final Thoughts

You can see Barraskewda becoming too fast and furious after evolving. As a Water-type Pokemon, it easily counters Fire-type Pokémon, ready to take on Ground/Rock-type thanks to its solid jaw, especially when it’s raining, its attack is increased by 50%.

However, like other Water-type Pokémon, Arrokuda and Barraskewda cannot defend against Electric-type attacks, so you should consider using them appropriately. We hope you have a good squad soon!
