While some players are content with judging Pokémon based on their base stats, moves, and how cool they are, there are some that go the extra step. They focus on other factors that can affect a Pokémon battle, such as the nature of the Pokémon they catch.

When going for Lechonk, however, choosing the right nature might get tricky because of what a unique move set it has. Fortunately, we’ve narrowed down three natures that we truly think are the best ones for both Lechonk as well as its evolved form, Oinkologne.

What is Nature in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet?

If you’re wondering what nature is in Pokémon, it’s a feature that was added in Gen 3 and is basically the defining character trait of your Pokémon. In addition to determining many other things about your Pokémon, it also increases a specific ability by 10% all the while decreasing a different ability by the same percentage.

There are other factors of the games that are affected by the nature of your Pokémon, such as what type of food it likes and more. You can find out all about it in this ultimate Pokémon nature guide.

Adamant

Naughty and Adamant are both similar in the sense that they both increase the attack stat of the Pokémon in exchange for a special stat. However, the reason we picked Adamant instead of Naughty is that a decrease in special defense would be too much of a handicap for your Lechonk and Oinklogne.

Additionally, sacrificing the special attack stat is reasonable considering Lechonk and Oinkologne don’t have many moves that scale with its special attack.

As for the stat that gets increased, which is attack, both Lechonk and its evolved form, Oinkologne, have very impressive base attack stats. In addition, most of their heavy hitting attacks scale with damage and not special damage.

Therefore, picking an Adamant nature Pokémon would make it so your attacks will hit even harder than they would regularly.

Impish

If you want to make your Lechonk and Oinkologne an all rounder when it comes to having both attack and defense, then the impish nature is definitely the best for you. Although the special attack will be decreased by 10%, as mentioned above Lechonk and Oinkologne don’t have too many special moves anyways.

As for what stat goes up, however, the defense stat sees a 10% increase. Couple that with the already formidable base attack stat of both these forms, and you have yourself a Pokémon in your party that can take damage, and dish out damage to the enemy too.

Final Thoughts

Those were the two best natures for your Lechonk and Oinkologne. If you’re wondering what the worst natures would be, well, any nature that increases the special attack stat by 10% would be unfit for both these forms, as there wouldn’t be much of an advantage boosting a stat that the Pokémon doesn’t even use.
