Sony’s new handheld console is around the corner, so we’re breaking down the PlayStation Portal pre order details.

In what will be the company’s first appearance in the handheld gaming market since PS Vita, the PlayStation Portal release date has been confirmed as November 15th. A pre-order has also now gone live in much of the world and we’re expecting demand to be high, as people jostle to reserve the $199.99 / £199.99 cloud gaming device.

It’s been a busy year for PlayStation if we’re looking at releases. There’s been the release of its first-ever pro controller, the DualSense Edge and the second generation of its PS VR headset in January and February alone. Alongside the PlayStation Portal’s reveal, Sony has also announced a wireless headset and earbuds, which would obviously pair perfectly with the PlayStation Portal.

It’s all very exciting, so let us guide you through everything we know about pre-ordering the PlayStation Portal guide.

How to pre order the PlayStation Portal

The PlayStation Portal is available to pre order right now from PlayStation Direct. For the time being this pre order is limited to the U.S., U.K., Canada, Japan, France, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Italy, Spain, and Portugal. In the same blog post that confirmed the Portal’s release date, Sony also confirmed the information for a wider rollout will be coming soon too.

In order to place your pre order simply go to PlayStation Direct Store, scroll down to the PlayStation Portal and click Shop. From there, select Add to Cart, log into your Sony account and place your order. Remember you will only be able to do this if you are in a region where the pre order has gone live.
