Is Payday 3 crossplay? Deep Silver and Starbreeze Studios’ next heist-themed entry has quickly become known for its action-packed multiplayer modes. So naturally, some fans are asking whether the game will allow you to join up with other players over different systems.

Now, with the Payday 3 early access release date closer than ever, we’ll be taking a look at the addition of crossplay functionality in the game so you know whether you’ll be able to join up with your squad for a few rounds of looting and shooting action. With that said, here’s what you need to know about the availability of crossplay in Payday 3.

Does Payday 3 have crossplay?

Yes, Payday 3 has crossplay available between the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. This means you’ll be able to play with your squad no matter what system they’re playing on. This should come as good news to fans of the FPS series, as the last entry, Payday 2, previously didn’t include crossplay functionality.

The addition of this feature was confirmed through the developer’s comprehensive FAQs page, wherein they stated that “Payday 3 supports crossplay with all supported platforms.” They also noted that cross-progression will be available at launch, so you can continue heisting with others across different platforms.

Unfortunately, since Starbreeze Studios developed the game with Unreal Engine 4, the developers have only made Payday 3 exclusive to current-gen consoles and PCs. So, if you’re still playing on past-gen systems, you will unfortunately not be able to join in on the loot ’em-up fun with others.

That covers all you need to know about Payday 3’s crossplay functionality. For more on the game, check out our other guides covering Payday 3 Game Pass availability, the Payday 3 campaign, and the Payday 3 release date.
