  • Track the flashing light on your Cradle backpack
  • Tap Q to activate Spacetime and reveal the crate
  • Shoot the crate and then loot it as you would a normal chest

You’ll come across your fair share of crates as you sift through settlements and points of interest in Dayton Wetlands and beyond. But, there’s also a rare kind of chest, dubbed the Morphic Loot Crate. There’s a bit more work involved to grab the precious loot it contains, yet Once Human doesn’t do the best job of explaining what’s required of the player.

To complicate matters, they’re not shown on the map either and don’t appear on-screen automatically. They spawn both in settlements and out in the wild. We’ll walk you through how to find Morphic Loot Crates and score the loot inside. You’ll need to find at least one to progress the Mayfly’s Fantastic Journey task linked to finding these elusive crates.

How to find Morphic Loot Crates

You may have noticed the blinking radar on your meta-human’s backpack, intensifying and fading away as you move about and explore the map. The light signals that a Morphic Loot Crate is hiding nearby. The light is shaped like a pulsating white circle (yellow at night) in the top right of your meta-human’s Cradle.

The trick is to track the light, moving and adjusting towards the direction where it intensifies until it blinks very rapidly. At that point, you’ll want to tap Q on your keyboard to activate Spacetime, which will reveal the create, which is basically a chest with legs that moves around and attacks.

You’ll need to gun down the crate and then loot it as you would a normal weapon, armour, or Mystical crate. Though not guaranteed, it has a chance to attack you. If and when it does, it packs a punch, so neutralise it quickly. Each crate typically includes a haul of Energy Link, Stellar Planula, Stardust Source, and the odd Deviation.
