EA is taking the open world approach with its reboot of the Need for Speed franchise, with approximately twice the amount of drivable roads as NFS Rivals according to the developer.

The story of the new game takes place in a single night, with live action cutscenes telling the story of the new lead protagonist as he tries to rise through the ranks of the underground racing scene. EA has pushed the concept of “five ways to play” this year, with Speed, Style, Build, Crew and Outlaw styles the focus of this year’s driving, each with their own icons you must learn from and hope to emulate.

Customisation is another big feature, with every inch of a car open to changes. Installing performance upgrades, tuning handling and customising the look of your car are all possible this year and in ludicrous detail.

Need for Speed launches on November 5 in Europe on PS4 and Xbox One with the PC version arriving next Spring.
