Will MW2 skins transfer to MW3?

Absolutely! You can transfer the skins you’ve earned or purchased from MW2 to MW3 when it launches. This was confirmed in a blog post by Activision regarding the Carry Forward feature.

This includes cosmetic items for both operators and weapons, whether you’ve acquired them by purchasing them or earned them by unlocking them. Following an X poll that asked MW2 players if they wanted content to be carried over, the response was an overwhelmingly positive affirmation, one that Activision couldn’t overlook and had to grant the fan’s wishes.

MW2 to MW3 carry-over items

  • Operators & Operator Skins
  • Weapons & Weapon Camos
  • Weapon Blueprints
  • Weapon Attachments
  • Emblems
  • Stickers
  • Weapon Charms
  • Loading Screens
  • Weapon Stickers
  • Vehicle Skins
  • Calling Cards
  • Wartracks

All of the above items will be transferrable from MW2 to MW3. Even unlocked operators like the Snoop Dogg operator skin and 21 Savage operator skin will remain unlocked. Weapon progression will be preserved as well. Also, the MW2 base operators will be accessible in MW3 and the full arsenal of MW2 weapons will transfer over to the upcoming game as well.

It’s also worth noting that there is no carry-back function in place, only a carry-forward feature. So if you acquire cosmetic equipment in MW3 and subsequently purchase MW2, the content will not be transferred to the previous title.

So that’s all we have for you in regards to transferring your skins to MW3. There’s a lot to look forward to in the upcoming game including an all-new zombie mode that’s set to alter the Modern Warfare landscape.
