Mortal Kombat 1 Baraka Guide

This guide should get you up to speed with Baraka’s deadly bladed attacks. Unlike earlier games, the Umgadi trailer revealed that Baraka’s appearance is due to the Tarkat plague. While this character isn’t the best at stringing long combos together, Kameo fighters like Darrius and Goro can support Baraka and extend combos. A new fighting system refines the blows that your fighter can deal to various antagonist forces in this new universe. Here’s how to unlock all Kameo fighters in Mortal Kombat 1.

Before you check out all of Baraka’s moves, here’s a handy chart that will let you understand this irrespective of which platform you’re on:

Best combos for Baraka in Mortal Kombat 1

Now that you know all the moves, here are Baraka’s best combos in MK1:

  • Bleeding Blade is a ranged projectile that can also be enhanced. While it deals damage over time, it also increases chip damage, letting you dial up the offensive.
  • Baraka Barrage is another heavy hitter that can be enhanced to launch an enemy into the air. You can then extend your combo with other attacks.
  • While Baraka doesn’t have super long strings, he can use Kameo fighters like Scorpion, Motaro, or Sareena to extend his combos.
  • Klean Kuts is a good poke with range and is safe on block so use it often.

That covers how to play Baraka in Mortal Kombat 1. This outworld character uses his painful swipes and blade charges to deal some incredible damage. Denizens of Outworld have a different reason for the Tarkatans having their grisly appearance this time: Tarkat disease.

The game starts off with fire god Liu Kang gathering Earthrealm warriors like Kung Lao, Johnny Cage, Raiden, Kenshi, and the Lin Kuei clan for a tournament. While Sindel rules Outworld this time, you’ll still get to fight familiar characters across game modes like Kitana, Tanya, and Li Mei.

Like other earlier antagonists, Havik, Reptile, Shang Tsung, and General Shao also have new stories in the game’s Story Mode. For more on the game’s story and modes, check out our Mortal Kombat 1 review. If you’re just starting the game, here are some helpful Mortal Kombat 1 tips and tricks.
