So you want to know how to get Overkill in MW3? We have what you need. Call of Duty players have long used the Overkill perk to answer the question of whether to bring a primary weapon or a secondary weapon to the battlefield, allowing them to carry two primary weapons instead of just one.
At first glance, the Overkill perk is nowhere to be found in the level-up rewards or equipment. But we can assure you that it is available in the game and you can even unlock it early on. If you’re interested in other perks, see our best MW3 perks and equipment guide. For now, let’s take you through how to get Overkill in MW3.
How to get Overkill in MW3
The best and easiest way to get Overkill in MW3 is to equip the Overkill Vest before heading into a match. The vest does a good job of improving your overall swap speed and lets you reload while you sprint.
So to activate Overkill, simply equip the Overkill Vest from your loadout screen. Then go to the Secondary Weapon window and equip a primary weapon in the second slot.
How to unlock Overkill Vest in MW3
Now that you know how to unlock the Perk, you’ll need to know how to unlock the Overkill Vest as well. To do that, you’ll have to reach level 50 in the game. While this won’t happen instantly, you can level up faster by playing matches, garnering kills and gaining lots of XPs. Completing daily challenges also helps to increase your XP.
If you unlocked the Gunner Vest in the MW3 beta, you will need to unlock it again in the full game, as level progress does not carry over. If you need more help getting around the game, here’s how to change your name in MW3 as well as all the weekly challenges you can play right now for some cool rewards.
