- While there are no major mods supported yet, there are a number of smaller cosmetic mods being created by the community
- These are usually around the flags and crests, and can be found on Nexus Mods
- There is also a VR mod, which has been praised by Hooded Horse although this is not widely avaiable… yet
- As expected, one of the first cosmetic upgrades is a Shrek mod
Manor Lords and its detailed city-building mechanics are finally here. While 14th century Franconia has influenced much of the game’s art direction, mods could add features and visual flourishes to an already stunning title. Here’s what you need to know about mod support in the game, including how to install them.

Will Manor Lords have mod support?
At the time of writing, Manor Lords does support some very light mods, which we’ve found on Nexus Mods. While a majority of these focus on changing the crests, some gameplay-focused ones have also started to appear. For example, there is currently a mod that allows you to increase the Sawpit’s max log storage. Another mod seems to be able to transform you main character into a woman dressed as a bunny, perhaps something to do with all this Stellar Blade fiasco. It’s unsure yet as to whether there will be significant mods, but the early signs point to the community starting to get to grips with the game’s code. Elsewhere, Flat2VR, a community of modders and VR enthusiasts, has managed to get the game to run in virtual reality, which led to publisher Hooded Horse praising the efforts. In the post on X, the publisher responded: “Wow I have no idea how it’s done but I’m impressed it works.”
Another cosmetic mod doing the rounds lets you play as Shrek, though until they add a Swamp to the game, he’ll be well out of his comfort environment. Now if only Slavic Games could add multiplayer to Manor Lords, we’d have everything.
Here’s how to install mods in Manor Lords
Getting mods installed to the game is a pretty simple process, as is uninstalling them. You’re going to want to navigate to your Steam folder on your PC. You will be able to find this in your Program Files x86 folder, then navigate through the following:
Steam/steamapps/common/Manor Lords/ManorLords/Content/Paks
After that, extract your mod .ZIP file into the Paks directory, and run your game. Uninstalling the mods is as easy as deleting the folders you’ve added to the directory.

Manor Lords dev assures players that mods are being considered
The good news is that in an interview with YouTuber ResonantRTS, developer Slavic Magic notes “It’s something I’d love to add, but I haven’t played with it yet so I can’t confirm [mods].” They also mention that modders may have to download Unreal Engine 4 (UE4) to be able to mod Manor Lords. Players have asked the dev the same question over on Reddit and have been met with a similar reply. The dev chose to prioritise the game’s development first before enhancing Manor Lords with a modding system. We’ll keep you updated on its mod support as we near the game’s launch.
