Though the focus on Manor Lords is very much on building a thriving settlement, the map is still a crucial part of the equation. It’s a source of resources, wealth, and home to the odd bandit or enemy baron eager to spoil the fun. An understanding of the Manor Lords map size is, therefore, useful for anyone planning to sample the game’s Early Access build.

We’ll walk you through everything you need to know about the Manor Lords map size, including the regions that make up the map and a rough estimate to give you an idea of the space you have to play with when building up your fiefdom.

How big is the Manor Lords map

In Manor Lords’ current early access build, there is only one playable map. It consists of eight regions – Nusslohe, Selbitz, Hofstetten, Goldhof, Waldbrand, Immenreuth, Eichenhau, and Zweiau. The regional layout, roads, abandoned buildings, and forests are always identical, but what does change is the positioning of resource depots (clay, iron ore, wild animals, berries, stone) within each region to offer some variety.

In our experience playing Manor Lords for review, you’ll typically always spawn in the regions of Eichenhau, Goldhof, Zweiau, or Nusslohe at the start of a new game. Our tips and tricks have you covered if you’re having a tough time getting to grips with Manor Lords. Each region has its own internal economy, settlement, and inhabitants. There’s little interaction between them other than a shared army and goods bartering.

The Manor Lords map size is hard to quantify as there is no distance metric in the game. You’d have to play for dozens of hours to fill up an entire region with buildings, so extrapolate that to eight regions and you get a sense of how big it is. An army unit with Run to Positions enabled and time sped up to x12 will take roughly 40 to 60 seconds to reach the other side of the map, depending on fatigue and terrain.

Though you only start in control of one region, you can stake claim to other regions and ultimately have the entire map under your control. You’ll need Influence to do this, which is a metric of how much power you wield, obtained from taxes, defeating bandits, and upgrading churches. There’s also a chance that rival barons may counter your claim, which could result in a head-to-head on the battlefield using your army.

We expect there to be more maps as Early Access progresses, but for the moment we’re stuck with only one. Though, its decent size means it has a solid shelf-life even for very regular players. We can also see the modding community that will likely spring alongside the game offering up new map variants to spice things up in the not too distant future.
