Madden 24 Franchise Mode Beginner’s Guide

One of the biggest staples for Madden among the community, is the ever-expanding Franchise Mode it continues to refine and improve. Franchise Mode is a team building experience in Madden that allows you to run a team as an owner or coach and build it from the ground up over multiple seasons. Whether you choose to play offline or online with friends, Madden has catered a pretty special Franchise Mode experience in recent years, providing only more responsibilities and realism for fans to get a feel for and enjoy.

This is why many of you should try out the revamped mode in Madden 24. For those that are new to Franchise Mode, we’ve taken the time to put together a beginner’s guide based to assist you along your way in Madden 24’s Franchise Mode. Here’s our Top 5 expert tips and analysis.

1. Choose Your Team

Though it might sound simple, it’s important to take some time to think about what team you want to be, especially if you’re not doing a fantasy draft. If you’re aiming on just picking a NFL team with all its actual players, you will definitely want to consider if you’re looking to build a title winning team from scratch or have the urge to win right away with a dynasty squad. As fans know, rebuilds take time to complete, and if you pick a team like the Houston Texans or Chicago Bears, success won’t come as quickly and could take you a couple of seasons or more to develop. Whether you opt for your favorite team or one you want to rebuild, this step is important and will allow you to decide what kind of journey you want to embark on.

2. Decide On Fantasy Draft

This is a game changer. Should you be at all interested in starting completely from scratch with your team and decide to build it from the ground up with a full blown draft, Madden 24’s Franchise Mode offers just that and it’s a great time. We always see these big blockbuster trades and signings take place over NFL free-agency, and with so many fans also big on Fantasy Football, the Fantasy Draft setting is an option many like to explore and implement for their leagues. Unless you’re sold on playing with your favorite players on your favorite team, the fantasy draft option is one we do recommend you try out and allows you to tap into a whole different realm of fun. And this year, you can change the order of your fantasy draft to the Snake format as well.

3. Select League Settings

As soon as you pick your team and decide on the draft you want, you will be presented with the league settings shortly after. In this section, you will be able to choose your starting point, change your role, and select the league settings you find will be best for your offline or online experience. Upon entering the settings, you will have a lot to choose from. But the key settings you will want to target are Skill Level, Game Style, Trade Type, Difficulty and Deadline, Injuries, Roster Protection, Clock Management, and User Team Help.

First and foremost, determining your skill level and game style is important so you can set the stage for what kind of experience you really want, and Pro is not a bad level to start at. For the most authentic game style, it’s best to stick with the Simulation option. Secondly, selecting what kind of trades you want and when the trade deadline will be are a must so you can understand how long you will have to trade players and what the standards will be. Unless you’re a fan of the trade deadline, it tends to be a setting we keep off. And in Madden 24, fans will also be able to adjust the trade difficulty.

In addition, if you want injuries enabled for realism, it’s not a bad choice but can get in the way of you having fun with your players. Lastly, the Roster Protection, Clock Management, and User Team Help settings, are crucial to closely review and customise to your liking, as they allow you decide what the roster requirements should be, how fast games should go, and how much control you will have for various tasks.

4. Complete Training Camp & Strategy Tasks

Once you have your team, preparing your players for the regular season while improving them in the process as well is key. This is where completing the new Madden 24 Training Camp Mini Games and additional Weekly Strategy tasks come into play, which allows you to improve your players and give them the boosts they need for each game week.

Training Camp will be happening at the beginning of each season while Weekly Strategy Tasks will be running throughout the regular season, and will be available for the focus players you select. These are key to run and complete, (and come with practices as well) because it will grant you the opportunity to maximize your players’ potentials.

5. Play Games & Head Into Offseason

Unless you’re after the in-depth, team-building experience you can enjoy over the offseason, we recommend you take advantage of playing as many games with your team as possible so you can capitalise on just how well your franchise can do. And should you opt to do a fantasy draft, you’ll relish playing with your special team even more, giving you another reason why you should get in on the fun and play all the games.

Once you complete your season, whether you played through it or simulated, you will enter the offseason which comes laden with things to address, including salary cap management, free agency, the NFL Draft, and Training Camp. However, these are factors that you usually don’t have to worry about until the season comes to a close, and won’t interfere with you starting up your Franchise Mode League in Madden 24.
